Osteopathy Care by Fernando Azevedo

With a passion for natural healing and compassionate care Fernando Azevedo started his endeavours in the health care system by providing direct patient care in hospitals in diverse areas: orthopedics, emergency room, intensive care units.

Looking for further training and knowledge on natural rehabilitation and focusing on manual therapy he graduated in Physiotherapy and specialized as a Manual Therapy practitioner in Chiropractics, Osteopathy and Massage Therapy in Brazil.

He now sums almost 20 years working in the healthcare system with more than 10 years dealing with spine and musculoskeletal disorders. He founded the Spinal Clinic in São Paulo where he helped in the rehabilitation of many patients. Participated in a Canadian Radio and Brazilian TV program and has scientific articles published on repetitive strain injuries. In Canada, he became an Osteopahic Manual Practitioner (DOMP), Diplomate of the Canadian Manual Osteopathy Examining Board and is a member of the International Osteopathic Association as well as a member of the Brazilian Association of Chiropractic Physiotherapists.

He is also a Certified Fitter: Foot Orthotics and Support Hose and a Certified Osteopathic Manipulative Therapist. Fernando is the Director of the National Academy of Osteopathy Brazil and the representative of the National University of Medical Sciences in Brazil.

In Toronto, he funded “Osteopathy Care - Hands on for your health", a space where the Brazilian, Portuguese and Hispanic community receive language accessible care and all communities feel welcomed. Osteopathy Care’s mission is to provide accessible and client-centered osteopathic care to the community, promoting pain relief and healthy lifestyles.
